OVERVIEW

Chemical Engineering is constantly changing, and graduates often need to deepen their technical skills and understanding. This course is especially relevant for chemical engineers wishing to broaden their industrial and managerial skills. It is ideal for continuing professional development and updating technical skills for sustainability.

 

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

You study six taught modules giving you advanced tuition in areas of engineering tailored to your career needs such as ecodesign, climate change, recycling, energy and water efficiency.

  • Learn about sustainability, life cycle thinking and life cycle assessment as a tool to evaluate potential impacts along the life-cycle of a product
  • Focus on climate change and global warming learning about measuring, accounting, auditing and managing greenhouse gas emissions
  • Learn from a team with strong links with professional bodies
  • Prepare for more senior roles including GHG manager, auditor or consultant.

  • Process development to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions
  • Kyoto Protocol and EU Emission Trading System (EU ETS)
  • Environmental Management System (EMS) and Environmental labels
