The course aims to give students a basic knowledge that will allow him to observe and to design educational interventions in different contexts that can accommodate people with disabilities. It will be made an analysis of the evolution of special education from a cultural and legislative point of view; will be analyzed planning tools helpful in practice. It is also provided, the deepening of some disability and the related intervention strategies.
Plan and organize educational and rehabilitation projects in a participation and recovery context of disabled subjects
“Dialogical lessons” (supported by slide) are provided; in this lessons will be discussed issues related to special education and the educational relationship in situations of special educational needs. The course will also include practical exercises (by groups), analysis of case studies and videos analysis. The exercises will aim to help the student to put into practice what they have learned in theory.
The course is divided into three in-depth modules.

ICF, Pei, Life Project.
Module 2
The educator in the inclusive perspective: educational care and help relationship.
The observation.
The design.
The intervention strategies for Quality of Life.

SPECIAL EDUCATION SCIENCES
It is written with the elaboration of a project and it is possible an oral exam integration.
At the end of each module is provided a written test with evaluation.
The final grade will be determined from the average of the three tests; to this evaluation will be added the evaluation of a mandatory project.
Project tracks will be provided by the teacher.
For students who do not attend lessons: written test (whole program) and mandatory project
The evaluation intends to investigate:
- Knowledge, understanding and reworking of theories and legislation;
- Ability to make connections between theory, design and action strategies;
- Independence of judgment.
- Presentation skills (oral and written) of knowledge; use of knowledge in the professional practice; use of specific language of the special education.
