OVERVIEW

Medical Physics

The physics course consists of a selection of the most relevant topics for students of health and nursing professions.

It will bring students to face the problems in quantitative approaches.

The course is divided into six modules, each of which contains teaching units consisting of videolessons, transparencies files and exercises.

At the end of each teaching unit, a self-assessment test is reported.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Students must learn methodologies to understand and solve problems concerning physical and biophysical applications. It will bring students to face the problems in quantitative solution.

(KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING) (Dublin): 2

LEARNING OUTCOMES (FURTHER INFO)

The student must learn the main elements of mechanics, thermodynamics, and thermodynamics, electricity, wave phenomena and light, atomic and nuclear physics, with particular reference to topics of greatest importance for students to study courses in Life Sciences.

Students will learn how to relate the topics of lectures on the AulaWeb site with the ability to solve simple physical exercises. For this purpose, they are provided numerous application examples and exercises. They will be able to know how to apply mathematical and geometric knowledge to the proposed physical problems.

The student will have to overcome the self-assessment tests in order to achieve the "badge" that allows you to take the examination.

Only the ability to correctly interpret the claims submitted in the form of numerical exercises and / or quizzes can assure the student that you understand the topics of lectures. The student must acquire the ability to understand and correlate rather than relying on mnemonic acquisition only.

TEACHING METHODS

The course is on-line; AulaWeb site contains the lessons and teaching slides, exercises, and self-assessment tests. The teacher also takes lessons in streaming mainly focused on solving exercises that are recorded and remain on the site for future reference.

Exercises and self-evaluation tests are published on the website AulaWeb

Three lessons in streaming were presented , each of about two hours. Topics on solving  physical exercises were selected. Lessons streaming are recorded and remain available on the website.

The students are awarded a badge after completing the vision of teaching units and completed all the self-assessment tests.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

PROGRAM / CONTENTS

The course is divided into eight modules, each of which contains teaching units consist of videolessons, from transparencies files and exercises.

At the end of each teaching unit is a self-assessment test, which has the purpose of reinforcing the key concepts treated by reflection on the content and facilitate the preparation of the final examination in the presence.

TEACHERS AND EXAM BOARD

LESSONS

LESSONS START

Lessons are published online, and students can download material from the site since the first week of November. Students are required to complete attending previous topics before beginning a new one.

EXAMS

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The examination requires the solution of 10 quizzes that the student must complete in twenty minutes. The student who has passed the written test with at least sufficiency may ask to take an additional oral exam

ASSESSMENT METHODS

Students must have a "badge" to be eligible to take the written exam in the form of a quiz test. The achievement is next to having passed the tests for self-assessment, which help the student to evaluate the opportunity to take the exam.
