OVERVIEW

Clinical pathways related to mayor psychiatric disorders will be presented and discussed, with particular attention to integrated treatments (pharmacological, psychotherapeutic, rehabilitation, and social inclusion) with a recovery perspective.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES (FURTHER INFO)

  1. Knowledge of methodologies for clinical approach in psychiatric services and rehabilitation facilities;
  2. Knowledge of tools and acquisition of competences to define integrated and customised pathways for therapy and rehabilitation;
  3. Knowledge of tools and acquisition of competences to define rehabilitation pathway for people with different features based on age, gender, socio-cultural context, etc.;
  4. Knowledge of relational and setting techniques to prevent drop-out;
  5. Capacity to integrated knowledge, abilities and attitudes to provide safe, effective and evidence-based psychiatric rehabilitation interventions;
  6. Capacity to rely on a wide array of theoretical knowledge derived from psychiatry, psychological and social sciences and other disciplines, in order to recognised the disabilities related to psychiatric diseases;
  7. Capacity and autonomy to look for necessary information to resolve problems or uncertainties during the professional practices, critically selecting primary and secondary sources of evidence.

TEACHING METHODS

  1. Frontal lectures with wide space for discussion
  2. Presentation of clinical cases, also by students themselves
  3. Discussion of exemplary relational cases and situations among groups, with presentations during plenary sessions
  4. Problem-based learning
  5. Take home messages from each lecture

 

Lectures will last at least 2 hours to allow the adoption of this didactic method.

  2. Methodologies for clinical approach in territorial psychiatric services and rehabilitation facilities
  3. Tools and competences to define integrated and customised pathways for therapy and rehabilitation
  4. Tools and acquisition of competences to define rehabilitation pathway for people with different features based on age, gender, socio-cultural context, etc.
  5. Relational and setting techniques
  6. Clinical and juridical problems connected to the treatment of committers of crime
  7. Clinical dimension in Forced Treatments
  8. Territorial rehabilitation treatments
  9. Purposes, models, organisations, cultures and inter-disciplinarity in the profession

EXAMS

EXAM DESCRIPTION

Oral exam, centred on minimum 3 questions.

Each answer will be assigned a score according to its completeness.

 

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The exam will allow the lecturer to prove the achievement of the results: full knowledge of proposed theoretical contents; capacity to integrate knowledge and apply it for problem-solving; ability to communicate during an oral exam, in particular to correctly present own scientific and cultural knowledge also through the discussion of clinical cases.

The final mark will be based on a weighted average of the marks proposed by each lecturer.
