THE GOAL TO PROVIDE TO THE THIRD YEAR STUDENTSTHE ACQUISITION OF THE BASIC ASPECTS FOR THE EVALUATION AND TREATMENTOF ISSUES OF PELVIC FLOOR

TEACHING METHODS

THE LESSON ARE CARRIED OUT IN THE FIRST SEMESTER OF THE THIRD YEAR, THE TEACHING IS MADE OF FRONTAL LESSONS WITH SLIDES PROJECTION

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

REHABILITATION UROGYNAECOLOGICAL AND URINARY INCONTINENCE

Outline of anatomy and physiology of the pelvic floor and lower tract, physiology and innervation of urination

Definition of continence and incontinence.  Classification, aetiology and quality of life

Physical examination urogynaecological  (trophism, scars, prolapses, relaxed vaginal outlet (genital Hiatus), distance ano-vulva, NFC or perineal body.

Physiatrical  assessment of the perineum:

neurological and postural examination, PC test, voiding diary, pad test, cough stress test, QTtip test

Outline  of Urodynamics, perineal electromyography diagnostic imaging

Rehabilitative programming in uro-gynaecology

Pelvic perineal physiotherapy: basic aspects, awareness, sequencing, perivaginal and endovaginal techniques, individual and group muscle training and automation in the ADL

Perineal auto training (home muscle training)

Pelvic perineal physiotherapy–  non conventional techniques

Vaginal cones

Urinary incontinence, Sports  and abdominal muscles, GAI

Bladder training

Relaxation techniques

Lumbar-pelvic and pelvic-floor statics

SEF: indications and contraindications; PTNS

BFB: types, indications and contraindications

Pharmacological therapy in urinary incontinence: summary

Basic aspects  of male incontinence urinary

FAECAL INCONTINENCE: Outline of anatomy and physiology of defecation, classification, clinical and diagnostic aspects.

Fecal incontinence rehabilitation ( muscle training, BFB, SEF)

CONSTIPATION:  classification, clinical and diagnostic aspects; evaluation, rehabilitation and lifestyle changes
