ABDOMINAL AORTA ANEURYSMS
Abdominal aneurysms is one of the main vascular disease and may be responsible for impaired quoad vitam prognosis of the patient


 

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES (FURTHER INFO)

 Knowing the etiology and pathogenesis of abdominal aortic aneurysms. Identify the correct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the patient with abdominal aortic aneurysm. Knowing the basics notions of surgery and endovascular techniques for the treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysms.

TEACHING METHODS

Teaching consists of 10 hours of training activities including 3 hours of lessons and analysis of the cases in the classroom and 7 hours of operating room attendancy.

Clinical and instrumental diagnosis
Surgical techniques to treat abdominal aortic aneurysms
Technical endovascular treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysms

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The assessment takes place through the final exam which aims to ensure the effective acquisition by the student of the expected learning outcomes.
The minimum required passing grade is 18/30, to achieve a pass the student must demonstrate that:
- Knows the etiology and pathogenesis of abdominal aortic aneurysms.
- Identify the correct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the patient with abdominal aortic aneurysm.
- Knows the basics notions of surgical and endovascular techniques for the treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysms.
- Being able to address the critical issues related to the possible presence of abdominal aortic aneurysm in the process of cardiac surgery
