OVERVIEW

Psychotic onset, often occurring in adolescence, may result in reducing patient and family autonomy and in preventing the formation of identity and mastery of self. Early intervention makes possible supporting the patient in preserving self-esteem and abilities, helping to prevent demoralization and self-esteem loss, so that he exercises a form of empowerment.
