It aims at understanding the working of the global financial environment and its governing institutions focusing on the elements which are at the base of the long run development of financial markets and institutions and their interconnections AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The course aims at providing students with the theoretical and historical tools to grasp the main features of the discussed topics TEACHING METHODS Face to face lectures The course in thaught in Italian SYLLABUS/CONTENT -Capitalism: main theories -Money: whence it came, where it went. -Monetary systems, basic determinants -Mercantilism in the Twenty-first century.
