To acquire knowledge of the physiological bases of rehabilitation.
To acquire Knowledge on the rehabilitation of the main neurological diseases (with particular reference to the treatment of motor function disorders).
At the end of the course the student must - Attain the knowledge of the brain and spinal plasticity mechanisms that underlie neurological rehabilitation - Know the basics of physiotherapy techniques aimed at promoting motor recovery - Know the fondamentali characteristics of major diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system and their physiatric taking in charge

Physiological bases of rehabilitation: plasticity mechanisms. Pathophysiology of motor control and its functional exploration (reflexology and transcranial magnetic stimulation) Clinical characteristics of the upper and lower motor neuron syndromes and extrapyramidal syndromes Physiotherapy techniques for motor recovery. Organization of the rehabilitation team. Neurological rehabilitation of patients with: stroke, parkinsonism, dystonia, peripheral neuropathies.
