AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

In the first part of the course provides basic knowledge on applied thermodynamics. Introduced the first and second law of thermodynamics, thermodynamic diagrams for gases and vapors; direct and inverse thermodynamic cycles; .principles of air conditioning.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

First part: Thermodynamics: 1st and 2nd  law of thermodynamics open or closed systems (volume control). Energy conversion processes direct and inverse. Refrigeration equipment.
One-dimensional thermal fluid dynamics: Bernoulli's equation. Fluid flow in pipes: calculation of pressure drops, and Moody diagram. Compressible fluids flow. Hugoniot equation. flow in convergent-divergent
