The course will focus particularly on SCRM 2000 and on the requirements of ISO 28000, PD 25222, and ISO 31000. Modeling and simulation will be extensively used to support quantitative scenario evaluation over multi-tier, multi-product SCM. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The course addresses the operational structure of the modern and global supply chain by identifying risk mitigation strategies through careful stock management, redundancy and mitigation of operational risks SYLLABUS/CONTENT Part 0 – Introduction to risk management Concept of risk in the supply chain Simple Exponential Smoothing with Linear Trend, Double Exponential Smoothing, Double Exponential Smoothing with Linear Trend, Linear Regression, Holt-Free Linear Trend, Single Exponential Smoothing, Winters Additive Algorithm, Holt-Winters Multiplicative Algorithm), determination of MAD, MSE, CFE, MAPE, and operational hazards. Assignment: Determination of the selling forecasting for a food distribution chain (FC). Beer game (exercise in classroom) Part 1 – Modeling and simulation principles applied to risk management in the supply chain • Basic concepts • Continuous and discrete simulation models: use of System Dynamics in the logistical-productive field (reorder models, beer game model) • Simulation input analysis and identification of probability distributions • VV & A and variance reduction techniques for simulated experiments Assignment: Construction of the beer-game model with the System Dynamics methodology Part 2 - Impact of disruptions on supply chain • Supply chain management, supply chain (shipper and carrier) cost structure, spatial aggregations, time aggregations, CRVP and cross-docking strategies, use of simulation in production logistics (real cases and examples) • Inventory management models: (s, Q), (s, S), (R, S), and (R, s, S) • Quantity discount problems, Single period probabilistic (newsboy) problems, Dynamic lot sizing policies: Wagner-Whitin Algorithm (WW), Silver-Meal Heuristic Procedure (SM), Fixed Order Quantity (FOQ), Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) For Lot (L4L), Fixed Period Requirements (FPR), Period Order Quantity (POQ), Least Unit Cost (LUC), Least Total Cost (LTC) and Part-Period Balancing (PPB). Assignment: Definition of the inventory management model along the most robust supply chain (ITS) Part 3 – strategic decisions to mitigate adverse events • Strategic Importance of Supply Chains • Supply Chain Economics • Supply Chain Strategies • Managing the Supply Chain • B2B, B2C Purchasing • Vendor Selection • Materials Management • Benchmarking Metrics • Value Chains • Global Supply Chains • Outsourcing Strategies, Globalized Make or Buy Problem Assignment: resilient supply chain development with AnyLogistiX RECOMMENDED READING/BIBLIOGRAPHY Reference texts W. TEACHERS AND EXAM BOARD ROBERTO REVETRIA LORENZO DAMIANI Exam Board ROBERTO REVETRIA (President) LORENZO DAMIANI PIETRO GIRIBONE EMANUELE MORRA EXAMS EXAM DESCRIPTION The exam provides for a single evaluation of each of the following elements, the grade being the sum of the individual evaluations: 1. The student's delivery of calculation reports related to Assignments. 2. Oral discussion of an in-depth report on one of the lessons discussed 3. A multiple-choice test on all subjects covered by the course. 4. Evaluation of the frequency of teaching activities (lessons and exercises) proposed in the classroom Exam schedule Data appello Orario Luogo Degree type Note 09/01/2018 09:00 GENOVA Orale 09/01/2018 11:00 GENOVA Orale 07/02/2018 09:00 GENOVA Orale 07/02/2018 11:00 GENOVA Orale 28/03/2018 09:00 GENOVA Orale 28/03/2018 11:00 GENOVA Orale 05/06/2018 09:00 GENOVA Orale 05/06/2018 11:00 GENOVA Orale 10/07/2018 09:00 GENOVA Orale 10/07/2018 11:00 GENOVA Orale 04/09/2018 09:00 GENOVA Orale 04/09/2018 11:00 GENOVA Orale 25/10/2018 09:00 GENOVA Orale 25/10/2018 11:00 GENOVA Orale
