OVERVIEW

The course will examine the methodologies applicable to the teaching of history, especially contemporary history: during the lectures will look at various types of sources ( written , iconographic , audio-visual ) and will be made in light of their characteristics and their potential . During the course students will work directly with sources elaborating educational courses

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The course has as main objective to provide students with the main tools of the narrative / historical communication, intended as preparatory skills to develop appropriate methodologies and teaching strategies in the context of history, social and cultural perspective.

The course will allow students to orient themselves and to reflect critically on teaching methods for history teaching in nursery and primary schools; in particular, critically reflect on the dimension of time, and its transmission .

Lectures, videos, slides, online resources and workshop on sources

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

Particular attention will be given to public use of history , deepening the relationship between history and memory ( collective and subjective ) . The problem of historical sources , both quantitative and qualitative , their presence on the territory and the methods of processing and analyzing , will form the focus of the entire course : the sources are in fact not only the privileged materials from the historical , but are effective teaching tools used , with due attention , in every type of school
