OVERVIEW

The course is designed for students that are interested in Latin authors and works related to the period between Late Antiquity and the 15th century. The course will present the history of literature through the analysis of the evolution of literary genres (including references to the historical and cultural context of each genre).

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Getting acquainted with the major literary works produced in Latin during Renaissance and Middle Ages.  Special importance will be placed on the relations between literature, society and everyday life between the 6th century and the 15th century

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The oral exam is meant to assess student's knowledge of the topics covered by the course. Moreover, precision and clarity of students' oral expression, and students' ability to underline the relation between different topics will also be assessed.
