CODE 65327 ACADEMIC YEAR 2017/2018 CREDITS 9 cfu anno 1 STORIA 8459 (L-42) - SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR M-STO/02 LANGUAGE Italian TEACHING LOCATION SEMESTER 1° Semester OVERVIEW The course's aim is to outline the major themes and issues of the Ancien Régime period (16th-18th centuries) and to present the working methods in historiography and the evolution of historiography since it became a definite profession AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES Getting acquainted to the fundamentals of Modern History: concepts, themes and issues of the modern Age; having a good understanding of the job of historians and which components are involved (sources, methodology, historiography). AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES See above. TEACHING METHODS The exam will assess students' knowledge of one or more specific topics analyzed by suggested texts (see bibliography). Students must be able to offer a correct, complete critical analysis of such topics using the appropriate terminology; Students will have to prove their ability to make significant connections between the themes analyzed within a text or (for attending students) during classes.
