OVERVIEW

The course is aimed at presenting the conceptual and methodological foundations of vocational psychology declining them through the major constructs and tools used in the intervention practices . The various guidance functions (information, advice, support) will be contextualized within the services and operational contexts in which you play the skills of guidance practitioners.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • The course has as main objectives:
  • - present the evolution of the theoretical approaches in the field of vocational guidance and planning declining them through the major constructs and tools used in the intervention practices;
  • introduce students to the technical and methodological processes that define the orientation practices, with special reference to the contribution that can offer the psychologist to their design,implementation and evaluation;

TEACHING METHODS

The teaching method alternates lectures to individual training exercices within small group. Each teaching unit will include some analysis and discussion of case studies, planning exercises done in subgroups and discussed in plenary, role -play and watching movies.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

The course has nine teaching units:

  • the evolution of the main theories in vocational psychology
  • the new perspectives of vocational psychology and career counseling
  • the main concepts / constructs in terms of orientation: interests, values, coping, self-efficacy, adaptability, resilience, skills, life design, employability and social inclusion, ...
  • the psycho-social transitions (training and employment), choice and career trends
  • map services, operating environments and professional skills
  • actions / guidance functions in accordance with national guidelines orientation
  • analysis systems, validation and certification of skills
  • the design and evaluation of guicance interventions in the context of school-educational contexts
  • the design and evaluation of guidance for action in the workplace and professional.
