CODE 66712 ACADEMIC YEAR 2017/2018 CREDITS 3 cfu anno 2 MONITORAGGIO BIOLOGICO 9016 (LM-6) - SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR BIO/14 LANGUAGE Italian TEACHING LOCATION SEMESTER 2° Semester OVERVIEW The course of Toxicology is intended to provide students with an uptade knowledge of the toxicological agents and, in particular, of the interactions that occurs between chemicals and the living organism and that determine toxicological events. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The course provides update knowledge on toxicokinetic and toxicodynamic of an exogenous compound within an organism; mechanisms of toxicity: functional toxicity, cytotoxicity, genotoxicity, teratology and feotal toxicity; side and toxic effects of drugs, toxicity of xenobiotics; toxicity at level of tissues and organs. The Commission will verify the achievement of educational objectives with high accuracy collecting informations about the nature and extent of learning outcomes, capacity as well as connection and reasoning within topics of the Course. When the educational objectives will be not achieved, the Student will be invited to verify better the knowledge and possibly to use supplemental explanations contacting the professor.
