History and analysis of texts from Italian drama literature from the 16th to the 20th century in lectures with exercises and possible seminar activities.
Analysis of themes and issues of Italian literature in its relations with theatre and performance in relation to both the production of drama texts, and texts that contribute to the knowledge of the history of performance (news reports, autobiographical works, letters etc).
Historical and textual knowledge of Italian drama literary heritage.
Competencies vis-à-vis contextualising texts, documenti and news reports.
Capacity for - written and oral - historical-critical, philological and bibliographical analysis.
Lectures and a seminar on Alfieri and/or Luzi
The final exam consists of a written exercise on a topic agreed with teaching staff (about 10,000 characters) and an oral exam on the topics of the course to assess textual knowledge of literary works and a discussion on the critical contributions indicated in the bibliography and what was proposed and discussed with students during lectures.
It is possible to present these exercises orally during lecturers on a voluntary basis, available time permitting.
