The course teaches how to develop applications oriented to data acquisition and instrument control in a graphical programming environment such as LabVIEW from National Instruments, which is a standard industrial tool in test and measurement and automation
Combination of traditional lectures (46 hours), hands-on sessions in laboratory (8 hours). Weekly homework will be assigned.
• Introduction to the LabVIEW graphical programming language, basic programming structures • practical examples on different design patterns using state machine, single-, and multiple-loop • design, implement, and distribute stand-alone applications • fundamentals of PC-based data acquisition and signal conditioning • hands-on experience installing and configuring data acquisition hardware and software functions for analog and digital input/output, triggering, signal conditioning, and synchronization
Course manuals edited by National Instruments will be provided, together with the slide shown during lectures
