The goal is to analyze the political function of the PO in the relationship between civil society and political society. Special attention is given to the transformation of this relationship by considering the social change of contemporary societies. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The course is aimed at providing students with: the specific knowledge through which the sociological approach defines and analyses the social innovation and considers it as a phenomenon related with the political change of contemporary societies; the ability to understand the most relevant contemporary transformations in the reference field in relation to the ongoing social change; the ability to apply knowledge and understanding skills to other specific contexts or case-studies aimed at critical and autonomous analysis. TEACHING METHODS Combination of traditional lectures (approx. 30 hours) and classroom discussion of the project selected by each student (approx. 6 hours).
