The course illustrates, according to the parts and components of the traditional building, methodological and technical problems that are faced during a design process, with particular attention to materials and construction techniques. During the course of the year, the student can set up the knowledge gained experimenting it in the field of architectural and restoration design.
The training course is aimed at understanding:
- the principles and constructive rules of historic and recent construction;
- maintenance, consolidation, refurbishment and energy improvement of buildings and their components;
- the theoretical-methodological issues underlying any technical operation.
In addition to deepening this specialist knowledge, the training course aims to develop, in the students, a synthetic and designing capacity by putting information of different nature and origin to a system.
The course is structured in ex cathedra lessons, external seminars and confrontation with the students on their project work.
