OVERVIEW

As WHO defines Rehabilitation of people with disabilities is a process aimed at enabling them to reach and maintain their optimal physical, sensory, intellectual, psychological and social functional levels. Rehabilitation provides disabled people with the tools they need to attain independence and self-determination.

The teaching provides the students some information about the meaning and the contents of Rehabilitation in general and particularly in elderly

The students at the end of the course will know the areas of intervention of the physical rehabilitation medicine elderly, with particular reference to the latest demographic and epidemiological data. They will recognize the figures of rehabilitation, their working fields and the main physiotherapy techniques . Finally, they will receive information about health legislation in rehabilitation

      • Definition of Rehabilitation and Rehabilitation figures

     • Rehabilitation Nursing , Chinesitherapy, Mechanotherapy, Massotherapy, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy

     • Rehabilitation in NHS: delivery mode

     • definition of auxiliaries and their delivery

    • Geriatric rehabilitation: multidisciplinary teams, CGA, major rehabilitative diseases, pain
