The course presents the nursing care for children in the surgical area, with reference of the evaluation, planning of the nursing care towards children and their families.
During the course the student will have to analyse in an holistic way the needs and the health problems that a child could have. Moreover he/she will have to evaluate from the nurse’s point of view as the main way of evaluation.
Identification of the caring before, during and after surgery mainly abdominal and pelvic surgery
Identification of the intraprofessional relationships in the management of the clinical practice.
Knowledge of the scheduling of the education to the patient and the caregiver.
To be acquainted and be able to use the basic knowledge of the care during the paediatric surgery in the different phases, being able to understand the specific needs and the management of anxiety end pain.
