CODE 57680 ACADEMIC YEAR 2017/2018 CREDITS 1 cfu anno 1 MEDICINA E CHIRURGIA 8745 (LM-41) - SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR MED/41 LANGUAGE Italian TEACHING LOCATION SEMESTER 1° Semester MODULES Questo insegnamento è un modulo di: FIRST AID OVERVIEW To Learn to manage emergency situation. The student will acquire the knowledge to manage the ACC following the last guidelines and the AED. AIMS AND CONTENT AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The student will acquire the knoledge and management in the emergency situation with particular focus on cardiac arrest and AED algorithm. Furthermore the student will learn how managing the common emergency situations such as burns, bleeding and trauma. The course will conclude with the managing of the childbirth and newborn. TEACHING METHODS Lectures. The student has to attend the Basic Life support defibrillation course.(five hours) The students will be divided in small groups, maximum 5 for each team SYLLABUS/CONTENT Cardiovascular physiopathology. ABCD in emergency setting. The survival chain. Evaluating conscious state, breathing and cardiac function. Inconscious patient, vital signs evaluation. External cardiac massage, respiratory support with pocket mask and AMBU balloon. Heimlich manouvers. Defibrillation. Alteration of conscious state. Recognition and treatment of external bleeding. Lacerated and contused wounds. Burns management. Trauma patient approach. Immobilization devices. The mountain and ipogeo risk. Viper and bee bites managing. Drowning.
