CODE 58020 ACADEMIC YEAR 2017/2018 CREDITS 1 cfu anno 1 MEDICINA E CHIRURGIA 8745 (LM-41) - SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR INF/01 LANGUAGE Italian TEACHING LOCATION SEMESTER 1° Semester MODULES Questo insegnamento è un modulo di: MEDICAL PHYSICS, BIOPHYSICS AND COMPUTER SCIENCE OVERVIEW Most of the students know how to use quickly and efficiently their smartphones, often being seen by older people as "computer geniuses". However, they often ignore the basics of how computers work and what happens behind a friendly graphical interface. The course aims to provide a basic computer literacy for those who will become health professionals and will have to deal with computers in all aspects of their work. AIMS AND CONTENT AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The student will acquire theoretical and practical knowledge to understand the basic operation of computers (hardware and software), use competently major web services (e-mail and browsing) and know how to select the information technology tools that will need during medical practice. TEACHING METHODS Teaching will take place through four lectures of two hours each, carried out with theoretical and practical approach. The student will practice at home by applying the knowledge gained.
