AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The goal of the course is providing the basic analytical tools for the study of transport systems, including transport supply, random choice, demand, and assignment models.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

The course is divided into four main chapters:

  1. Introduction to transportation systems and their relation with the surrounding environment
  2. Transportation systems supply modelling: link, nodes and network models
  3. Transportation systems demand modelling: users’ characteristics and choice models (destination, mode and path choices)
  4. Transportation systems supply and demand interactions: equilibrium assignment and dynamic assignment
