The module aims at providing the basic elements of logistics and integrated inventory management techniques as well as to develop and to use logical-mathematical models for the analysis and the planning of logistics systems.
The objective of this module is that of providing the necessary knowledge for design, optimization and performance analysis of logistic systems (including industrial logistic systems). At the end of the course, the student will be able to analyze and formalize problems relevant to the design of logistic systems, by properly identifying the various terms of the objetive function to be optimized, the decision variables, and the problem constraints.
Lectures and computer exercises (in the classroom).
Basic concepts relevant to design and analysis of logistic systems (including industrial logistics). Logistic network planning. Route planning. Supply chain management. Inventory management and control.
The notes of the course will be made available to the students. They will include several bibliographical references.
Ricevimento: It is possible to meet the professor, on request, at different times.

Oral exam, that may include a discussion of the report prepared by the students about the computer exercises.
The exam has the objective of checking and evaluating the ability of the student to formalize and solve problems of anlysis and optimization of logistic systems, analogous to those discussed during the lectures and the computer exercises.
