TEACHING METHODS Lectures and seminars of industry professionals, for an amount of 50 hours SYLLABUS/CONTENT Based on the concepts ruling the generation and propagation of elastic and electromagnetic wave fields, the course describes the characterization and the evaluation of the signature produced by a specific ship, including acoustic, electromagnetic, magnetic, and infrared components. Moreover, the relation between the ship signature and the probability of ship detection by means of radar and sonar systems, as well as by means of magnetometers and thermocameras, is analyzed RECOMMENDED READING/BIBLIOGRAPHY D.
