AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

To set goals and tasks of hygiene (preventive medicine, public health, community medicine). To understand the fundamental measures in epidemiology, active and passive immunisation, strategies and vaccinations timetables. To analyse the historical pathway of public health. To analyse the historical pathway of preventive, palliative and rehabilitation nursing especially in order to prevent diseases.

Learn and be able to apply the fundamental principles of the course.

Know and be able to use the the knowhow acquired during the course in order to understand the chidren’s and the families’ needs during the different ages and development phases.

Through the analysis of the relationships between Physicians, Patient and Ilness in the different historical epochs, the course will highlight the evolution of the development in the sanitary and care arts, with according achievements and innovations

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The exam will verify if the student has learnt the objectives of the course and he/she will have to prove:

• Have the intellectual knowledge in the mastery of the objectives of the course
• Have logic and elaborative capacities
• Communication skill (scientific language, clarity, essentiality, fluency
• Integrate the nursing knowledge, the biological, psychological, socio-cultural and humanistic sciences in order to understand the complexity in the care of children and family.
