AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

During the lectures will be presented the basic contents of anthropology from the debate between nature and culture to achieve human adaptation , the ecology and the occupation of the territories . Particular attention will be paid to anthropological knowledge in order to enhance the tourist aspects .

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The course has as main objectives:

  • make the student capable of facing up to the issues involved in the various aspects of tourism through the “anthropological approach”.
  • become aware of the close relationship between the human and its environment.
  • provide the basic elements related to some research topics in psychology closely related to the topics addressed by the psychology of tourism.

Frequency of at least 60% of the lessons

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

Psychology of tourism: participants are taught the basics of perception, attention, motivation, decision making, and psychological well-being. The knowledge base will be classified in the application fields of the psychology of tourism, such as the formulation of tourism, attention to the characteristics of some target of particular interest, such as the “senior”, in preparing initiatives/tours/attractions aimed at increasing and making competitive the bid proposal.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

Psychology of tourism: written test (multiple choice test in the computer Classroom on AulaWeb) at the end of the course that focuses on texts 1 and 2, and on what was said during the lessons and not covered by the texts, only for the assessment at the end of the course and for summer appeals. Starting from the appeal in september no distinction between attending and non-attending students will be make.

Psychology of tourism: it is permitted to take the examination for a maximum of 4 times over the assessment at the end of the course. The failure to pass the examination on the third and on the fourth attempt involves the recording of a negative outcome and, consequently, the inability to take the exam in.a.y. 2018-19. The student who falls in this case may take the exam again in.a.y.  2019-20.

Students who fail an exam can sit it again at the successive exam date.

Learning uotcomes

  • Knowledge and understanding: students must acquire adequate knowledge and an effective understanding of the fundamentals of anthropology and psychology that are relevant to the construction and communication of the tourist offer.
  • Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: students should be able to apply the acquired knowledge and to understand and solve problems related to the design of tourist offers declined in function of the specific target.
  • Autonomy of judgment: students must know how to use both on a conceptual and operative way acquired knowledges with independent judgement and skills in different contexts.
  • Communication skills: students must acquire the technical language typical of the discipline to communicate clearly and unambiguously with stakeholders specialists and non-specialists.
  • Learning skills: students must develop appropriate learning skills that enable them to continue to deepen in an autonomous way the main topics of the disciplines, especially in the working contexts in which they will operate.
