The course will provide basic knowledge in sociology and social research methodology in order to enable students to analyze specific aspects of turism supply and demand and to develop social research necessary to build or to monitor and evaluate projects in touristic domain.
The Teaching of Tourism Sociology aims to provide a basic knowledge of sociological knowledge concepts and methods, and in particular to develop two insights. The first concerns tourism sociology, with particular regard to the social aspects of supply and demand and the interactions that are generated in different territories. The second concerns the social research methodology, both necessary for proper use of existing research and databases and for setting up specific field research activities autonomously.
The teaching of sociology of tourism aims to provide a basic knowledge on the concepts and methods founding the sociological knowledge (particularly in the touristic domain) and to develop in particular two insights. The first concerns the methodology of social research, necessary both for an adequate use of the research and the existing databases on the subject, and to set up autonomously specific field research activities, had particular regard to the use of the Web. The second concerns the ability to devise and develop a social research project, starting with a problem that you intend to solve or an opportunity that you intend to seize.

Oral examination.
Students can prepare a project work on a subject of their choice, with the agree of the teacher, which can lead to the a supplementary score from a minimum of 0 to a maximum of 3 marks.
Students attending more than 75% of lessons will have the additional opportunity to have written exams on parts of the program, that will substitute completely or partly the oral examination
Oral questions on the course syllabus. For those who will carry out the project work, it will be assessed on teamwork, followed by oral presentation by each group member and completed with some oral choice questions on topics covered by the texts. For attending students that will carry out the project work program reductions are forecast
