AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The themes related to contemporary Italian literature – seen in this case as the creation of Italian collective imagination from the Unification of Italy to the present day – will be tackled with particular regard to the aspect of school environment and to the role of the school teacher (from De Amicis’ Il romanzo d'un maestro to Paola Mastrocola’s La scuola raccontata al mio cane).
