CODE 90427 ACADEMIC YEAR 2018/2019 CREDITS 4 cfu anno 2 SCIENZE DELLA FORMAZIONE PRIMARIA 9322 (LM-85 bis) - GENOVA SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR M-GGR/01 LANGUAGE Italian TEACHING LOCATION GENOVA SEMESTER 2° Semester MODULES Questo insegnamento è un modulo di: GEOGRAPHY TEACHING MATERIALS AULAWEB AIMS AND CONTENT AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The module has as main purpose to transmit a critical knowledge of the main aspects, processes and problems faced by geography, with specific references to the Italian and European context. At the end of the module the student will be able to: - illustrate the main natural processes, endogenous and exogenous, of the Earth, - present and analyze the main themes of human, political and cultural geography, - grasp the relationships between the natural and anthropological components of the landscape, with particular reference to Italy, - critically examine problems and perspectives of contemporaneity with a transcalar approach, from local to global, - use the specialized lexicon of the discipline in an appropriate manner. TEACHING METHODS - Frontal lessons with projection and discussion of slides and videos, - interactive activities / exercises on some geographical themes starting from a visual approach, - reading and analysis of graphs, maps, images. SYLLABUS/CONTENT The module examines the main processes and aspects inherent: physical geography (lithosphere, atmosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere, terrestrial modeling); human geography (population and demographic evolution, migratory dynamics, settlement); political and cultural geography. Insights on the central themes of geography will be presented, such as spatial representation and landscape, with specific reference to Italy. ASSESSMENT METHODS The exam: - will allow to verify the ability to present and critically evaluate the main aspects, processes and problems faced by physical, human, political and cultural geography, - takes into account the quality of interview and the appropriate use of the specialized lexicon, - will evaluate the argumentative capacity and critical reasoning on the study carried out, - will evaluate the ability to identify links between the topics addressed in the two modules that make up the teaching.
