AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The course aims to present the fundamental concepts and logic that characterize social research, with particular reference to the design and implementation of a survey path, the nature of the data, its construction, elaboration and interpretation. The course is aimed at providing students with basic literacy on the logic of the research, in its various phases and in relation to the main methods of detection and analysis of the data used. Quantitative and qualitative methods and techniques, individually and in a comparative perspective, as well as their use in the conduct of sample inquiries are examined. Particular attention is devoted to the construction and use of the questionnaire as a tool for data capture, attitudinal detection techniques and the use of statistical sampling in social research. Part of the course is devoted to the illustration and acquisition of the basic methodological and basic knowledge necessary to analyse and interpret the collected data through quantitative detection techniques, with particular reference to statistical processing and data representation.
