Intercultural geography itself as a tool for showing the power that has in identifying possible areas in which to promote intercultural practice, to find her in the concrete of everyday relationships, where you need to generate the experience of mutual exchange.
The course intends to present the stages of evolution of intercultural geography, understood as significant support in the complex construction of identity.
Specific objectives are:
a) to acquire adequate knowledge and an effective capacity of understanding regarding the cultural diversity of the various peoples of the Planet;
b) to enable students to apply the acquired knowledge and to understand and solve problems in different application contexts related to case studies on topics such as: current demographic dynamics, international and national migrations, programmes and case studies related to multicultural and intercultural processes.
The learning outcomes will enable the student to develop appropriate knowledge and skills for working in intercultural design contexts.
The course aims to present the phases of the evolution of intercultural geography, understood as significant support in the complex construction of identity and understanding of otherness.
You must have passed the Human Geography exam.
The course includes front lessons, in which slide and projected video will be used.
Group discussions on the main concepts and issues will also take place.
Interventions of privileged and / or experienced witnesses are provided during some lessons.
The use of aulaweb is foreseen where materials presented and discussed in lessons on the tools of intercultural geography will be available.
The course aims to provide a framework on issues such as: cultural connotators ( language and religion ) , cultural diversity , globalization , European integration , the smaller the great migrations . Particular attention will be paid both to the arrangements cities as privileged spaces for the promotion of intercultural projects is to " not " intercultural places such as the food and literature .

INTERCUTURAL GEOGRAPHY
For attending students : At the end of the course there will be a written exam reserved for students attending (70-75% of the course). For non-attending students : oral exam . The oral exam includes the discussion , including through the use of graphs, charts and tables , proposals on aulaweb or present on the texts in the program , useful to the understanding of the territory understood as a central point of contact for the study and the various interactions between identity .And critical reading with a short written reworking of one of the recommended texts in the bibliography is also provided.
At the end of the course there will be a written exam reserved for students attending (70-75% of the course). Students who do NOT take the written exam will take an oral exam in the same way as those who do not excluded critical reading with a brief written reworking of one of the recommended texts.
For non attending students:
Oral test for non-attendants: The oral test involves discussion, also with the help of graphs, charts and tables, proposed during the course or present on the texts in the program, useful for understanding the territory as a central point for the study of contact and interactions between different identities. A critical reading with a brief written reworking of one of the texts recommended in the bibliography is also envisaged.
The oral examination will be assessed on the basis of the following
a) Knowledge of the topics dealt with in the course (65%)
b) Quality of oral exposure/ability to present arguments and critical approach to discipline (25%)
c) Mastery of specific vocabulary (10%)
