AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Students will learn and improve their knowledge on advanced topics in computer science.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The course is targeted to MSc students without a BSc degree in Computer Science, who have gaps in the knowledge of key concepts and results in Computer Science. The aim is to ensure that these gaps are filled before the student attends MSc courses with such knowledge as prerequisites.

The course is tailored to the needs of each student and consists of a mix of topics. The mix is discussed and agreed by the student, the teacher and the MSc program coordinator before the approval of the study plan, and must take into account the gaps in knowledge identified at the time of admission (or in subsequent interviews) and the study plan proposed by the student.

Each topic has its own material, evaluation criteria, and one or more reference persons, that provide guidance and advice on the material and are responsible for the evaluation of that topic.

Students are expected to study and practice mostly by themselves, and at the end a student is expected to understand and apply the concepts and results studied.
