The course enlights the educational role of a physician.
According to the Royal College CanMed and the Tuning Project a medical doctor has 3 main educational roles as health educator, cronic patient educator, scholar.
At the end of the program, students should be able :
to plan a teaching and learning actitivity accordin WHO Educational Guide for health personnel;
to illustrate the role of an health educator;
to plan a therapeutic patient education project ( hystory taking, learning contract, teaching and learning activities, evaluation);
to illustrate the Italian system of Continuing Medical Education.
The student should be able :
to describe the history and theories of Medical Education;
to describe how to plan an educational training program for medical and health personnel;
to describe the Italian system for continuing medical education (CME);
to describe the role of the medical doctor as a scholar;
to describe the role of the medical doctor as a clinical tutor;
to describe the main teaching-learning-assessement methods used in medical education.
