The course has the following topics: the analysis of some fundamental concepts of political philosophy; the study of the main contemporary theories of distributive justice, with specific reference to ones which have, as a subject matter, legal systems and public institutions.
Some theories of justice in contemporary legal-political culture. Definitions of “justice”, principles and moral values assumed as justification criteria of social and legal order. Distributive policies Law as system of resources - and particularly rights - allocation; the relationship between law and market.
Explanation of subject matter, involving students in discussion and critical assessment of some ethical issues.
