Latin Epigraphy, module II: A relevant contribution to the knowledge of the Roman world is giving by direct sources; between them Latin epigraphy plays a fundamental role, which allows to identify a dinamic landscape of Roman civilization, including minors but not negligible details regarding this culture.
A working knowledge of Latin is not requirement for the course of study.

Latin Epigraphy, module II: Verbal exam. On line registration to the exam via the Ateneo website will be mandatory.
Latin Epigraphy, module II: The acquisition of the basic methodologies will be tested in order to achieve the objectives, as well as the knowledge of both the main characteristics of writing, and both the main categories of epigraphical documents, especially public and institutionals, and both bibliographical research instruments, with knowledge of the public and private institutions detectable in the given inscription documents.
The correct reading and interpretation of epigraphical text, object of the exam, allows to access an eventual excellence level.
The following skills will be verified:
- reading, translating, interpretation and dating of epigraphical texts; - analysis of historical, institutional, economic, social and cultural aspects included in each document; - - contextualization of the epigraphical document in the bigger stage of the ancient world, especially of the Roman era; - orientation in bibliographical research and how to supplement and support with additional sources.
