OVERVIEW

The course of History of Classical Archeology provides the tools to reconstruct the paths through which the human being has discovered his past, from the development of the collection of the antiquities to the genesis, the origin and the definition of the archaeological science. The class examines the approach to the material documentation of the past in different historical periods with particular attention to the birth of modern and contemporary archeology.

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The exam foreseen an oral presentation in the classroom of a topic dealt with during the lessons and an oral exam

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The exam is oral and to overcome it is required a good knowledge of the features of the history of archeology, with clear critical and expositive ability. Moreover, in order to reach a level of excellence, a good knowledge of the topics detailed during the lessons is required, with particular reference to the birth and development of archeology as an autonomous science, and the demonstration of having acquired historical, archaeological and critical reading skills.
