The aim of the course is to examine the relationship between the description of space and the phenomenon of power, the transformation of the concepts and tools of geographic communication, in relation to the evolution of international relations.
The course studies the link between geopolitical communication and the geographic tools. To this end, we will deepen the analysis of the way in which maps and concept are involved in the relationship between politics and the media
The course aims to provide the basic methodological tools to connect the geographical discourse to ideological and political communication. At the end of the course the student will be able to understand the role played by geography in the practice of social control.

The oral test ascertains the degree of acquisition of the methodological tools in order to link the geographical discourse to the political and ideological communication and to define its relevance among the tecniques of social control
