AIMS AND CONTENT

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

La partecipazione attiva alle attività formative proposte (lezioni frontali, visite tecniche e attività di campo) insieme allo studio individuale consentiranno allo studente di:

- conoscere le principali normative europee, nazionali e regionali che si occupano di valutazione di incidenza sulla fauna

- conoscere le diverse definizioni e applicazioni delle attività di mitigazione e compensazione per la fauna

- applicare le conoscenze derivate dallo studio della componente faunistica alla valutazione di incidenza

- conoscere le principali caratteristiche biologiche e conservazionistiche (finalità, tipologie, grado di connettività) relative alla Rete Ecologica

- applicare le conoscenze acquisite nella realizzazione degli elaborati cartografici e testuali necessari per la prova di esame

TEACHING METHODS

The module consists of lectures, for about 32 hours and field activities for 12/14 hours. Attendance at lessons and practical activities is not mandatory, but strongly recommended. The exercises and technical visits in the field are always conducted by the offocial teacher.

- Habitats directive definitions
- Analysis on management (Article 6 Habitats Directive)
- Analysis of the impact assessment (Article 6 Habitats Directive)
- Analysis of incidence studies and their evaluation
- Study on mitigation activities (article 6 Habitats Directive)
- Deepening on the persistence / resilience of the species
- Deepening on strategic environmental assessment (SEA)
- Design and impact of wildlife mitigation activities
- Examples: fish mitigation activities
- Examples: mitigation activities on amphibians
- Examples: mitigation activities on wind farms
- Examples: mitigation activities on photovoltaic systems
- Ecological Network Generality
- Charter of potential ecological connections
- Virtuous examples of design and / or mitigation

Technical visits and field activities
- Visit to artificial tanks for amphibians
- Visit to ski lifts for fish
