OVERVIEW

The course belongs to the characterizing activities of the MA (“Sociological field") and is held by a Professor of the  Department of Political Sciences. The course belongs to the scientific field of Sociology of political phenomena.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The course is aimed at providing students with: the specific knowledge through which the sociological approach analyses the main actors, processes and dynamics associated with the decision-making within complex organizations; the ability to understand the most relevant contemporary transformations in the reference context in relation to the ongoing social change; the ability to apply knowledge and understanding skills to specific contexts or case-studies aimed at critical and autonomous analysis.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The course aims to provide students with: the specific knowledge with which the sociological perspective defines and analyzes the social innovation and considers what phenomenon linked to political change in contemporary society; the ability to understand the most relevant contemporary transformations in the areas of reference in relation to the ongoing social change; the ability to apply knowledge and understanding skills to specific contexts or case-studies aimed at critical and autonomous analysis.

PREREQUISITES

The basic knowledge of political sociology is suggested.

For this purpose any edition of a Handbook of Political Sociology may be used. 

TEACHING METHODS

The course includes:

- 42 hours of taught class

- 6 hours for the presentation and discussion in the classroom of group papers

 

 

 

 

Combination of traditional lectures and classroom discussion of the project selected by each student.
