OVERVIEW

Objective of the course is to describe the basic principle and application of sensors, devices and platforms used for oceanographic and hydrographic measurements.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Specify sensors, equipment and sampling strategies for hydrographic and oceanographic measurement to meet survey requirements and environmental conditions. Configure and use hydrographic and oceanographic sensors and sampling equipment. Planning and realize a hydrographic survey, data management, following the work flow to product nautical documents

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The course is constituted by two modules: Hydrography (1 semester) and Oceanographic Measurements (2 semester)

TEACHING METHODS

Lessons and discussion of home exercises. Visit to oceanographic laboratories and stations (e.g. mareographic stations) and onboard a hydrographic ship/launch
