The main focus will be on: production planning and control, internal logistics and external logistics (feeding and distribution) including warehouse design and operation, packaging and after sales services. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The course deals with the topic of internal and external logistics applied to the industrial manufacturing industry. Both calculation/optimization models and simulation models are presented. The course also addresses the issues of designing transport networks and the mechanical design of internal transport systems from an operational and structural point of view. SYLLABUS/CONTENT Part 0 – Introduction to logistics as a competitive factor • Logistics as a competitive tool, external logistics, transport alternatives, transport companies • Internal logistics, internal transport management, inventory and reorganization mechanisms • Stock management (LEA and PUR), needs management: MRP, Just in time. Assignment: development of a model MRP (MRP) Part 1 – External logistics • Problem of the logistic nodes location choice, analytical methods and multi-objective choice criteria Assignment: Location of a Production Plant (FLL) • Mathematical programming elements for logistics: capacitated network flow (transshipment), transportation, assignment, shortest path, maximum flow, minimal spanning tree, and traveling salesman problems. • Logistic Network Management Models: Point-to-Point and Hub and spoke, Intermodality, and Complex Cycle Advantage. Assignment: optimization of a logistic flow in a network (NET) Part 2 – Internal logistics • Structure mechanics: rigid kinematic and static structures, constraint analysis, labile, isostatic and hyperstatic systems, congruence equations and equations of equilibrium, virtual works method, stress characteristics, internal dissociation, determination of stress characteristics for beams, recalls on the theory of elasticity, recall of De Saint-Venant theory, the fundamental equation of inflexible elastic beams and graphical methods, determination of tensions and deformations, temperature influence, influence of binding yields, use of software for calculation structural. • Cranes: design and calculation of stresses (tensions and deformations, balance stability for slim constructions, industrial chimneys, cobblestones and trellis cranes and full beams, twisted torsion cranes, testing, fatigue stress grading) . • Crane, stress analysis and design and testing criteria • Trolleys: analysis of stability and stress conditions, test tests, calculation of safety coefficients • Roller conveyors, sizing criteria and maximum bending (arrow) analysis • Conveyor belts, stress solving and sizing and design criteria, stress analysis (classroom exercise) • Elevators, dimensioning and design criteria • Chain conveyors, strain analysis, dimensioning and design criteria, stress caused by quota variations and design criteria • AGV, construction systems, driving and management systems, and analysis of the potential of the system.
