The course aims to train the student on the scientific and critical theory and on the practice of producing drawings, and images for the contemporary architectural project.
The course provides knowledge and skills needed to represent the architectural design during the conception and presentation phases. With this in mind, the themes related to the production of images for the project in its different scalar dimensions are studied in depth. The representation is seen as a way of addressing the complexity of the project, intended as an ex-novo act of creation or as a system of operations functional to cognitive processes affirming its value as an autonomous aesthetic subject expressive of forms of critical research.
The student will face a theoretical and practical path that will lead him to know the scientific fundamentals (geometric, optical and perceptive) and the technical methods of using some updated tools for creating models, drawings and images (parametric models, photo insertions, renderings , panoramic photograph). Through this knowledge, the student will create parametric models and represent them by choosing the modes of expression considered most effective.
An exercitation is proposed which consists in creating a spatial configuration through parametric modeling systems and in its insertion in an urban context. The student will acquire not only the technical tools, but also the critical ones that will enable him to motivate and illustrate the different processing stages.
The lessons are divided into lectures, participate lessons (critical discussions) and elaboration of models, drawings, photographs and images.
THE COURSE ON AULAWEB IS UPDATED WEEKLY WITH PARTIALLY BILINGUAL EXPLANATIONS.
The course covers the following subjects: Geometry and parametric models for architecture
- Digital mathematical and numerical representation
- Curved lines and surfaces and their use in architecture

- Projective geometry and perceptive ambiguities
-Symmetries, tessellations, proportions
Architecture and context
- Generation and Insertion of a configuration in a context
- Photographic insertion
- Panoramic photography

METHODS OF REPRESENTATION FOR THE PROJECT
The final exam consists in the delivery and discussion of the elaboration carried out during the course.
FINAL ASSESSMENT - Takes into account:
- curriculum of deliveries and revisions for attending students or, for those who do not attend, periodic processing to be agreed and reviewed with the teacher;
- evaluation of the monographic exercise;
-evaluation of the oral discussion based on the knowledge of the properly chosen scientific and critical foundations.
