Rheumatic musculoskeletal diseases (RMD) include almost 200 different conditions. Three major chategories should be recognized: Immune-inflammtory, chronic-degenerative, rare-mulltifactorial.
The Course covers the following aspects: ethiology/epidemiology, pathogenesis, differential diagnsosi, diagnostic tools, therapy fo the major RMD.
The update of the topics is constant every year and the Faculty members (rheumatologists) have large experience and enormous scientific production on the matter.
Laerning outcomes are realted to the amjor rheumatic conditions and of course together with the dermatologgical and immunological issues. The student at the end of the Course should recognize pathophysiology, clinical manifestations of the majior diseases as well as to suggest the best diagnostic pathways and prognostic expenctancies for the diseases considered in the Course.
In the field of RMD at the end of the Corse is requested to have learnt about the inflammatory process, the immune response, the biological markers and the clinical symptoms in relation to the different RMD.
Methods of teaching will include lectures, workshopd and meet the professor at the bed of the patients with ex vivo discussion of clinical cases.
The syllabus includes the before mentioned topics, namely: ethiology/epidemiology, pathogenesis, differential diagnsosi, diagnostic tools, therapy fo the major RMD.
Furthermore, several workshops, involving different specialists and regarding systemic RMD will include dermatologists and immunologists.
