AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES Clinical Pathology combines the theoretical and technical knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, genetics, clinical chemistry, immunology, microbiology, hematology, histocompatibility, cellular pathology and other fields as they pertain to the diagnosis, monitoring, and prevention of disease. The student can reach a basic knowledge on several aspects of biomedical sciences TEACHING METHODS oral lecture with slide presentations. Biological causes of variation in results Complete Blood Count: hematocrit ; analytical parameters of white and red blood cells, platelets Protein electrophoresis (serum, urine samples) acute phase proteins, Erythrocyte sedimentation rate anemia, polycythemia, Bone Marrow Disorders Leukemia Lymphomas leukocytosis markers of myocardial damage Enzymology clinical diagnostics laboratory in the course of common liver diseases, jaundice, hepatitis and cirrhosis. Pancreas diseases and cholestasis biochemical markers of metabolism iron and cupper.
