From the reforms of Peter the Great to the October Revolution and the dissolution of the Soviet Union. AIMS AND CONTENT AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The aim of the course is to provide students with a detailed picture of Russia's historical, political, economic and social situation over a period of time from the end of the seventeenth century to the dissolution of the USSR. On the one hand, the perspective is to follow the progressive emergence of Russian power starting with Peter the Great and, on the other, to analyze the problems that have arisen from this rapid rise that still affect many aspects of European politics. PREREQUISITES A sufficient knowledge of the general European history so that we can contextualise the history of Russia. TEACHING METHODS Given the presence of a few students already graduates and almost all with a teaching that concerns the sector M-STO / 03, the course will have a seminar course, with reading in the class of books and articles suggested by the teacher or even by students . The meetings will include the frequent use of historical-geographical maps and films. The blackboard will also be used to set dates and concepts of the particular historical period and to contextualize everything in universal history. SYLLABUS/CONTENT The course aims to move on issues and problems in the history of Russia from emerging as Power to the October Revolution. The course will be mainly seminar, with continuous use of texts provided by the teacher. Students will present short reports to present to the rest of the students who will give rise to general discussions. XVIII-XX) (LM) EXAMS EXAM DESCRIPTION The course includes a final oral exam, aimed at verifying the acquisition of disciplinary contents. In particular, the interview aims to ascertain the mastery of the topics dealt with, the ability to contextualise them and test the ability to analyze and reflect on sources and documents. The student will have to answer five open questions on the topics of the course.
