The aim of the course is to provide general knowledge concerning comparative law. In the modern world, lawyer point of view may not be limited to her or his own legal system, especially in Italy nowadays where law is every day more influenced by foreign legal systems.

Institutional introduction of the common law and civil law legal systems. Legal history of related areas and legal terminology in the past and modern context. Particular focus on the terms used within regulatory instruments of the European Union or in their preparatory works.
EDUCATIONAL TARGET
Introduction on civil law and common law legal orders. Law history of the two areas and legal terminology in both ancient and modern world; with attention to the legal terms most used by EU legislation or in their preparatory works.
