In the nautical field (as for every product) innovation is based on the consideration of improving the state of the art; for this reason, awareness of what already exists is the essential foundation for generating successful new projects, capable of qualifying and renewing what the market is already able to offer.
The training objectives of the course are to define the nautical product through significant examples for the various types of motor and sailing boats.
While the technical drawing has become digital and perfect, hand-sketching is freer and for this reason it has never ceased to exist and to be the most suitable language to illustrate the CONCEPT DESIGN.
To have a sufficient familiarity with the language of freehand drawing, it is necessary to know the subject you want to draw
The awareness of the subjects to be represented is therefore the key to controlling the descriptive graphic process.
The course will be divided into lectures, and will be accompanied by practical activities to be performed in the classroom and individually. The lectures and exercises are aimed at allowing the student to master the reading of the object and its return in the form of a sketch.
The course will develop the concept of some boats starting from examples drawn from the history of boating. History, construction techniques, concept, design are the keywords of the course.
There will be several exercises aimed at representing the main types of boat by reading the respective general plans to illustrate the whole through freehand sketches.
